Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where are you located?

A:We are now located in Northwest Portland, Oregon, at the corner of Johnson and NW 23rd. Our address is 732 NW 23rd Ave., Portland, OR 97210.

Q: Where can I park?

A: Street parking nearby uses the Parking Kitty app, or you can pay at one of the kiosks on each block with a credit or debit card. Parking is free on Sundays! There are also some privately-owned parking lots nearby; prices and lengths of time vary.

Q: Which sizes do you carry?

A: It depends. Each manufacturer is different. Some only make S-L; others make S-XL, S-XXL, or S-3XL. For right now, we are trying to bring in more product lines that are S-XL and not just S-L. In jeans, we currently offer sizes 0-14/15 in many styles. We hope to add more sizes down the road!

Q: How long will it take for you to ship my order?

A: We do our best to ship out in 2-4 business days, but with a staff as small as ours (usually just our owner operator!) please allow us 5-7 business days to ship in case of illness or inclement weather. We will do our best to reach you if we expect a delay in shipment. 

Q: Does that mean I will receive my order in 2-4 business days?

A: Not quite, that is our processing and shipping estimate. Please allow an additional 1-3 days for mailing in the Pacific Northwest and surrounding states; it may take longer to ship across the country. You will receive an email with your shipping confirmation and delivery information when we process your order.

Q: Do you offer expedited shipping? I need an item by a certain date!

A: We would be happy to look up shipping times and costs for you! Please email us at hi@alderandbrooks.com with your request and we'll see if we can make it happen! We will do our best to meet or exceed your expectations!

Q: Do you offer in-store pickup?

A: Yes, during our regular open hours.

Q: Do you offer curbside pickup?

A: Sorry, our intersection is too busy and there is too much foot traffic to leave the store unmanned if we only have one person on duty.

Q: Can I return an item?

A: Yes! We do have some rules though: We will accept exchanges and returns WITHIN 21 DAYS if the item is in sellable condition, unworn, unwashed, with the tags still attached, and with the receipt, confirmation text, or confirmation email present.  Without a receipt, text, or email, we will not be able to look up the return in our system and will only be able to offer store credit for the lowest price between the tagged price and the price in our system. NOTE ABOUT CASH REFUNDS: We do not keep much cash on hand, so we can only refund up to $50.00 in cash per person/transaction, and the rest will be put on store credit. If this does not work for you, we suggest using a credit or debit card. 

Q: Where do you buy your inventory?

A: Mostly from brands we love and have seen in person at apparel trade shows or in the fashion district in Los Angeles. Some of our products are manufactured in the USA!

Q: Do you still have a store in Salem? 

A: No, we do not. We moved the store's single location to Portland to a boutique-centric shopping district with many other independently-owned businesses like our own.

Q: Can you support my fundraiser?

A: We participate in charitable fundraising at different times of the year, so our budget is most likely already spent, sorry!

Q: Can you donate to our silent auction?

A: Maybe! Please email your request to hi@alderandbrooks.com for consideration.

Q: Will you sponsor our sports team / organization?

A: Sorry, we are not taking on sponsorships at this time.

Q: Would you like to take a look at my product line / service?

A: Sorry, we are not interested in new product lines or services at this time.

A: Not quite yet, but feel free to email us or send us a direct message on Instagram or Facebook for consideration down the line.

Q: Are you hiring right now?

A: Not yet, but in Summer 2022 we hope to find a model, retail management intern, social media intern, and/or part-time sales associates. We will accept resumes via email anytime for consideration at hi@alderandbrooks.com.
